DIY - turn boring shirt into cute one

I love cutting things and changing things... I had this mens shirt for ages soo I decided to change it and make it more wearable.... Let me know what you guys think!!!

 So the 1st picture is what the shirt looked like and the second one is what it looks like now!!

Here is the old boring shirt

Unpick the pocket

Trace the pocket on a paper. Dont forget to add the seam allowances... I made them 1cm.. and I wanted to add that pointy detail up top as well... I have mucked up the pocket few times!!! Because I am not patient enough hahaha.. So take your time and be patient!! Double check

 So this the pocket pattern with seam allowances...

This is the top pointy detail... I added 1cm seam allowances all around except the pointy part I added 2cm... I wanted it to look neat... I wanted to double fold that part..

 Put your pattern on the fabric... I am using an old dress.. I always have bag of scraps and bags and bags of clothes I need to cut up and change!!

So here is the pocket and the top detail.. I love this fabric...

Its always a good idea to fold and press the seam allowances.. Makes it much neater and easier to sew.

The wrong sides of the fabric facing up join the top pointy detail to pocket.. Only join it from the top part not sides... I dont know if I am making sense..

Flip the pointy detail to top side/right side of the pocket and press. Sew the pointy end part to the pocket take your time with this part.. I had to unpick few times because i wanted to finish it and was sewing fast and not paying attention and it looked all wobbly and eeeek!!!....
After that step put the pocket on shirt and sew the pocket on ... It will be easy to know where to sew the pocket since will still have the marks from the old pocket!!....
I ripped the sleeves off the shirt and  I used the hem from the skirt as binding on sleeves... I am very happy with the outcome eeeeeek!!!

DELICIOUS RECIPES...

 TURKISH PASTRY
2 potatoes, diced
1 carrot, diced
1/2 cup of peas
filo sheets (I made mine from gluten free pastry sheet)
Chicken breast
2Tbs milk
1 egg
Black pepper and salt
Sesame seeds

Get the vegetables ready, dice them up nicely so its easy to boil.

Boil the chicken in a pot and in a different pot boil the veges (I added the peas later on as they dont take longer).
When the chicken is boiled shredded it. My trick is with forks... I am not good at explaining so here is a video of someone else.. I usually use 2 forks instead of my hand

In a bowl mix the vegetables and chicken and add black pepper and salt.

Mix the egg and milk in a small bowl. They usually use 2 sheets of pastry for this recipe but I used one.. So if you want to use 2... than put the pastry and brush some of the milk and egg mixture and than put the second sheet on.. Cut sheets about 8 cm wide..

 and brush more milk and egg mixture

 Put about table spoon of  the filling (chicken & vegetables) near the corner and than roll left and right.. I find it very hard to explain how to do this... Brush milk and egg mixture at ends so it sticks and doesnt open... i didnt take pictures of it because I was making a mess .. Put the pastries on a lined tray and brush milk and egg mixture on top of pastries and add sprinkles of sesame seeds.

and cook until golden

and now kick back and enjoy with cuppa tea!!... You dont have to put the filling I put in this pastry.. Go crazy.. Its quit nice with spinach and feta as well mmmmmmmmmm

NEW BEGINNINGS

So its back to the land of employment. 2 weeks ago I've decided to quit my depressing job & do something I enjoy, after all life is too short. SO i took huge risk and decided to work on my own, well so far its not going that well but I am not going to give up!! Finally out of my ugly orange and black uniform and now I can wear my clothes I missed so much... hehe but I've been living in my trackies and tights!.. So had few days to being lazy now its back to work and i need to stop myself getting distracted by the kittens but they so darn cute!!,... well my days been filled by locking myself to my sewing room, baking things and going opshops to find gems!!... here are pictures of my wonderful boring life..


 Finally decided to get out of my "house clothes" and get out of the house... but was still to lazy to put make up on! hehe... Everything I am wearing here from my finds at the op shops!! i love op shop I always find things to buy!!

Me and boyfriend decided to foster kittens.. and now this is our second lot.. its really hard to let them go but then we always get new ones so its ok and its nice to know we looking after these cute homeless kitties!! So we decided to give the cute kittens bath.. because they been rolling around in their litter box and they smelled bad!!

got bored and made some Turkish pastries... num num num... and made soup from the leftover chicken & veges.. I'll write the recipes very soon!!

PLAYGROUND....

this is just me nagging about the world and people and whatever... if you get easily upset and dont like swearing ..THAN PLEASE DONT READ!!

I am just sooo sick of girls with their fancy labeled clothes and lipsticks and what nots... "ohh look at my new lipstick colour"... blah blah.. I mean, I am not writing this to hate every girl who has expensive taste or love their lipsticks.. Its just the ones who sit on their asses.. and mummy and daddy pays for everything and they have achieved nothing in their life but still get ahead because they have rich parents... while I work my ass off to get somewhere I get nothing!!..

 I am trying to get my shop noticed yet i get nothing.. and i see a young 16 year old selling shitty ripped "vintage" items and her shop goes of the roof... why??? because she awesum?? because she has cool friends?? because she is rich?? because she is such a rebel??... I dont get it what am I doing wrong??... do I have to kiss ass to get somewhere?? do I need to sell out!!... I need to hang out with the cool kids?? what is this fucking high school all over again??

Maybe i am jealous??... i am not gona lie YES I AM!!.. I am jealous of their success I am jealous of their holidays and the carefree ways!!... I am jealous that everything falls onto their laps... and I have to work like a dog to get nowhere..

I am 30 now and i seriously feel soooooooooo tired of it all... I just found out I have alopecia and I am stressed to the point of breaking and losing my mind!!... why because I feel like a failure seeing these kids get ahead while I get nowhere!!.. maybe the fault is within me?? I dont know but seriously doesnt anyone feel the same!!??... I mean I cant bring my past everytime..going "oh i had a hard life..."... which I did and i am trying to handle it.. but sometimes just sometimes I fucking blow up!!...

I seen a quote once somewhere "dont take life seriously..think of it like sand under your feet..".. or something like that.. Well I feel like that sand is not under my feet but way above my head and drowning me!!

Wow I am a slacker!!

Well i have been feeling down & useless comparing myself to others and maybe getting a lil jealous of other people's success... than I thought to myself instead of wasting energy & complaining I should stop comparing myself... I know i dont get many followers or people who comment but the ones do they really mean it!.. and if i comment on your blog I really mean it!!
